I had a fantastic holiday photo session with a family at their home a couple of weeks ago and we were so fortunate to have the most beautiful morning light for our entire session. This was a fun session that included the family dog and lots of smiles and laughter. Here are a few of my favorites from that morning:
Oh, this little one….she is just made for the camera. Her face, her smile, her curls, her bubbly personality….I just can’t get enough of her:-) Here are a few of my favorites from our session:
(Oh and if my posts are a little brief these days, please excuse my lack of words. Just three more weeks, 7 more family sessions, 4 more newborns, and 15 more sessions to edit until the busy season is officially over….and then I will be back to my regular rambling self;-)
Many of my clients who come to me for newborn sessions end up becoming regular clients through my First Year Baby package. It is a pack of 3 photo sessions that highlight the key stages of the baby’s first year of life, typically at 3 months, 6 months, and a year old. It is the perfect way to document how quickly the baby is changing and all the new skills being acquired through the year, from the first smiles, to sitting up, and the first steps.
One of my recent holiday sessions this fall was with one of my First Year families. It was so fun to work with them both and their beautiful little girl again. She did an awesome job (as always) and we got some fantastic shots of the whole family out in their holiday colors. Here are a few of my favorites from our session:
About a week and a half ago, I met up with this beautiful family of four to get some family shots and portraits of the twins as well. We shot the session in downtown Old Wethersfield, which was a really great place for a photo session. Twin toddlers can be a bit more challenging to photograph because like all toddlers, they really have no interest in sitting down for even a second and have even less interest in looking at the camera and smiling on cue:-) So when shooting a session with multiple toddlers, it is so important to remain completely flexible and open to letting the shoot unfold as naturally as possible. And that is exactly what we did. I really love the results of this approach because the photos are so genuine and are such a perfect reflection of the girls and the stage they are in now. They are just full of energy and curiosity at this point and I love how these shots really show that.

After the beautiful, mild temperatures of October, I can hardly complain about the weather this fall. But I guess the warm weather streak had to come to an end at some point and it finally did last week. The good part is that the little cuties in this session had their cozy scarves, mittens, and hats on for most of the session, which was really adorable and makes for the perfect look for holiday photos and cards for the winter season. Here are a few of my favorites from our session:
Recently, I had a session with a family who I met about a year ago when their baby boy was just born. A whole year had passed and he has grown so much since then!! Babies are truly the greatest evidence of the passage of time. As an adult, you barely even notice a year anymore, but when you don’t see a baby for a year, you realize that a lot more time has passed than you think! Here are a few of my favorites from our session:
Well, it seemed to come on a little late this year, but the fall weather is finally here and the leaves are looking beautiful! For those of you who regularly follow my blog, you will know what that means….I have officially entered into my busy season! This is the time of year when everyone wants family photos for holiday cards and gifts, so my typical work schedule doubles or triples in October and November. As a result, I am going to try my very best to get as many session previews posted as I can, but I know there is just no way I will be able to get them all. So if your photos don’t make it to the blog, do not worry! It is completely random who gets previews posted and who doesn’t. Hopefully, I will have some spare time in the winter to go back and put some more of the fall shoots on the blog after the holidays. Keep checking back after the holidays for more fall shoots and my new winter work as well.
This next family was a lot of fun to work with and also planned their wardrobe beautifully! As soon as I saw them, I was very impressed…a perfect mixture of neutrals and bold colors:-) Here are a few of my favorites from their session:
