I recently had a session with the most handsome baby boy who easily had the best head of hair that I’ve ever seen on a baby. He also was able to hold up his head and smile at just 4 weeks old!! He was truly an amazing little guy:-) Here are a few of my favorites from our session:
Oh, this little one….she is just made for the camera. Her face, her smile, her curls, her bubbly personality….I just can’t get enough of her:-) Here are a few of my favorites from our session:
(Oh and if my posts are a little brief these days, please excuse my lack of words. Just three more weeks, 7 more family sessions, 4 more newborns, and 15 more sessions to edit until the busy season is officially over….and then I will be back to my regular rambling self;-)
Last week, I had a great family session with a beautiful baby girl who was delivering the most adorable smiles ever! When her parents would make her laugh, she would squeeze her eyes shut and throw her head back every time. It may have been the cutest thing I’ve ever seen. There is so much great stuff to capture at this age where they are crawling and just about to start walking. The whole world is new and fascinating to them, so it is the perfect time to have take some photos to capture these special moments before they pass by. Here are a few of my favorites from our session:
I had a really fun “almost newborn” shoot recently with a beautiful baby girl who was a little smiling machine:-) I call it “almost newborn” because she was actually a bit more than a month old, so the shoot has a bit of a different look to it. There are far more awake shots than there are sleeping shots. And although you won’t see any of those curled up, snoozing baby photos, there are plenty of smiling baby shots to make up for it. Here are a few of my favorites from our session:
When doing a newborn shoot, my number one goal from the moment the baby enters my studio is to get him/her to sleep for as much of the session time as possible. That is one of the major reasons that I prefer to do newborn shoots within the first 3-10 days after the baby is born because at that point, the baby is still very sleepy and easy to shift into all of those cute, curled up positions. I explain all of this to my clients before our session and I usually make lots of suggestions as to how to best accomplish this goal. I have all kinds of tricks that I use to get those little ones to snooze their session time away, but sometimes….every so often….a newborn just doesn’t want to sleep. When this happens, my clients will almost always ask me, “what if the baby doesn’t sleep? Will we be able to get any good photos?”
The answer is ABSOLUTELY!! However, it will not be as easy. There may be less outfit changes or creative positions, but there will still be plenty of variety and often my clients will be amazed by just how many great shots we captured despite the baby being so wiggly, fussy, etc. This session was a perfect example of this type of situation. But I find that with patience, good timing ,and a couple of top secret newborn photographer tricks, you can still have a great newborn session with beautiful photos that will make you forget all about how much your little munchkin resisted sleep that day. Here are a few samples from a recent session with the sweetest little (wide awake) cutie ever. Not only is she adorable, but she is also super smiley as well:-)
You saw this adorable couple a couple of weeks back with their maternity session in Blue Back. Well, they are back now with their beautiful baby girl who has the cutest dimple that I think I have ever seen!
Since I just got back from my vacation in Montreal(which was unbelievably fun, and I highly recommend everyone go visit, if possible), I am frantically trying to get caught up on work and my blog as well, so I have to be very brief today. Just wanted to post up a quick sneak peak from the session before I dive back into my editing, email, phone calls, etc.
Here are a few of my favorites from our session:
I love the next photo because it reminds me so much of when my daughter was a newborn and my husband and I would get so excited by each and every adorable little expression and sound that she’d make. I swear we could just be completely content to stare at her for hours and watch her do virtually nothing:-) This photo captured one of those sweet moments with this new family and I am so excited that I could freeze that moment in time for them. It passes by WAY too quickly!!
