Just had a fun, after school photo session with 4 adorable siblings who were returning for their second fall shoot with me. We were able to find a few spots with some colorful foliage still and luckily it wasn’t too cold either. Seems like we went straight from summer to winter this year!
Here are a few of my favorite shots from our session:
I recently shot a family portrait session with one of my returning clients and their two adorable little boys. We had a fun and active session at a beautiful farm/park location. During sessions with children that are this young, it is definitely essential to move quickly and capture those little candid moment as much as possible, which is exactly what we did with this shoot. We were even lucky enough to get some excellent posed shots too! Here are a few of my favorites from the shoot:
I met up with one of my families for a fabulous fall photo shoot a couple of weeks ago. We had amazing weather and the foliage was just starting to turn! So many people call me during these last two weeks of fall, looking to book a session (like this one) when they see how amazing the fall leaves look. However, I always have to turn people away because my peak season sessions are already booked up long before the leaves even start to turn at all! So for anyone looking to book with me for fall 2016, the best time to contact me is anytime between July and early September to get on my calendar for a “peak season” fall foliage shoot. Try to remember when you are about to head out for your summer vacation, drop me an email before you go:-)
I had a fantastic holiday photo session with a family at their home a couple of weeks ago and we were so fortunate to have the most beautiful morning light for our entire session. This was a fun session that included the family dog and lots of smiles and laughter. Here are a few of my favorites from that morning:
After the beautiful, mild temperatures of October, I can hardly complain about the weather this fall. But I guess the warm weather streak had to come to an end at some point and it finally did last week. The good part is that the little cuties in this session had their cozy scarves, mittens, and hats on for most of the session, which was really adorable and makes for the perfect look for holiday photos and cards for the winter season. Here are a few of my favorites from our session:
Well, it seemed to come on a little late this year, but the fall weather is finally here and the leaves are looking beautiful! For those of you who regularly follow my blog, you will know what that means….I have officially entered into my busy season! This is the time of year when everyone wants family photos for holiday cards and gifts, so my typical work schedule doubles or triples in October and November. As a result, I am going to try my very best to get as many session previews posted as I can, but I know there is just no way I will be able to get them all. So if your photos don’t make it to the blog, do not worry! It is completely random who gets previews posted and who doesn’t. Hopefully, I will have some spare time in the winter to go back and put some more of the fall shoots on the blog after the holidays. Keep checking back after the holidays for more fall shoots and my new winter work as well.
This next family was a lot of fun to work with and also planned their wardrobe beautifully! As soon as I saw them, I was very impressed…a perfect mixture of neutrals and bold colors:-) Here are a few of my favorites from their session:
I recently was hired by a couple to photograph them with all five of their adult children and their 13 grandchildren. We had a very limited time window to work with so we ended up having to shoot during the harshest sunlight in the day. However, we were fortunate enough to find a couple of shady spots over at the Farmington Club to capture those great group shots we were hoping to get. They were such a fun, sweet family that by the end of our session, I went home and told my husband that we needed to have four more children so that we could also one day have a great big family like theirs:-) I was thrilled to be able to capture this unique moment in time when a family of this size with members living in all different areas were able to come together to reconnect and bond with one another. Here are a few of my favorites from our session:
After being buried in snow for the past 3 days following Blizzard Nemo’s visit to CT, I thought that it might be the perfect time to revisit a few of my sessions from the fall that I still have not posted up on the blog. Just looking at the gorgeous foliage from this particular session is helping me forget about how cold my feet have felt for the past month and a half….how dark and depressing it is outside….and reminds me that soon, the snow will melt and I can get back outside for my family sessions again. I cannot wait! Although there is something very nice about being able to just curl up under a blanket on the couch and sip mugs of hot tea while catching up on TV shows and books that I was too busy to keep up with during my busy season, I really much prefer the more hectic pace (and warm weather) of the spring, summer, and fall.
So with that being said, if you are thinking about booking a spring family photo session, feel free to contact me now to get that on the calendar. Because there is nothing that makes me happier than when I can look at April on the calendar when it is February:-)
Okay, so here are some of my favorite shots from a session I had on October 21st. It was easily the best weekend of the entire fall for photos. The weather was PERFECT and the foliage was at its peak. This particular weekend always books up very early, so if you want to get that type of look for your next family photos, then you are going to want to book your session in late summer to guarantee you secure your fabulous foliage date. Take a look at what they had for a family session backdrop this past October….
I have shot a few of my holiday sessions recently at Westmoor Park in West Hartford. It is a great little spot tucked away from all of the hustle and bustle of our big town, where you can take your kids to visit a small farm with real farm animals. It’s a very popular destination for parents with small children as there is nothing more entertaining to little ones than animals, especially ones that make great sounds. The little one in these photos was very eager to show off her animal sound skills throughout our session. She could not get enough of the moos, baas, and all the other great sounds at the farm. You can tell just by looking at her face in many of my shots that she is mooing away with the cows. It was so adorable! Here are some of my favorite shots from our sunset session at the farm:
Well, the timing couldn’t be any better to post the photos of the Notre Dame alum family that I shot last weekend. My husband is a Notre Dame alum himself, so I fully understand the intense amount of excitement that is bubbling over amongst fans and alumni this football season. These are some serious fans and they LOOOOOOOVE their football team! So I was very excited when I noticed the ND symbols on the guys’ shirts. I’m sure that they are also beyond excited this week about their team heading off to the national championship game, so congrats to the M family on your team’s big win….oh, and here are some of my favorite shots from your session last weekend. Enjoy!!
They were just cracking themselves up whenever I told them to look at each other. It was too funny! I just had to share this because it is one of my favorite genuine laughter shots ever:-)
This is based on a shot that the kids took when they were much younger. We decided to attempt to re-create it in 2012. They were both very good sports about it and the photo came out perfect!
The following shot came from a totally spontaneous moment where the littlest M just snuggled into her mom and said, ” I love you, Mom”…..oh….my….goodness….I could cry just thinking about it. That’s how sweet it was:-)
