A Senior and Family Combined Session- West Hartford Senior Portrait and Family Photographer

I had the opportunity to photograph three siblings this past weekend in a combined senior portrait and sibling/family session. This is a wonderful option for families who would like to do a more quick and casual senior session, but would also like to add in some shots of the siblings together before their graduating senior heads off to his/her post high school adventures.

These kid were truly wonderful to work with and they really made my job very easy to do. This session is also a perfect example of how photo shoots do not need to be over styled and posed to be fabulous. You just need great natural light, a scenic location, and a relaxed atmosphere. With a session like that, you can’t go wrong!

A Family Session Just In Time for Mother’s Day- Family Photographer West Hartford, CT

Today’s post is of a recent family session that I shot for a really great family with two beautiful little girls. We decided to head to a location with lots of spring blossoms at sunset to capture some beautiful shots of the kids and the whole family. One of my favorite things to do, if things are going really well and the kids are still happy and cooperative, is sneak in some moments with just the mom and the dad with each child individually. I was really excited to be able to achieve that during this session.

I was raised in a large family with lots of siblings, so there were probably not a ton of opportunities for my parents to take a photo with just one child at a time. However, it is those couple of photos that I treasure the most from my days as a child. There is just something about seeing your mom or your dad holding you, hugging you, smiling at you….it is something you know happened when you were little, but just cannot really recall. So being able to see your parents and their incredible love they have for you is something that is invaluable, in my opinion. As a result, I strive to capture those moments whenever I can. This session is a perfect example of why. The looks on their faces….the way they embrace their children…this is what photos are all about….the emotion, the love, the moments….

I am so excited to be able to deliver the gift of these photos to this family, just in time for Mother’s Day. This is the perfect way to document the love that this family shares, all thanks to the amazing mother who has made it all possible. To Mama D and to all of the mamas out there who are reading this post, I hope you all have an amazing Mother’s Day weekend. Enjoy your time with your families and make sure you spend the day celebrating and relaxing:-)
