I LOVE when I have the opportunity to photograph my friends and their children, so I was very excited to shoot this fall photo session with good friends of mine a couple of weeks ago at Elizabeth Park. The foliage was amazing, the weather perfect, and the whole family looked fabulous! Such an honor to be able to capture these moments for them in photos…. I hope that these photos will be a treasured part of their family for many generations to come:-)
I recently had a session with the most handsome baby boy who easily had the best head of hair that I’ve ever seen on a baby. He also was able to hold up his head and smile at just 4 weeks old!! He was truly an amazing little guy:-) Here are a few of my favorites from our session:
It has been a long, long time since I wrote anything on this blog. To be honest, I hit the wall around mid November. My photo shoot/editing schedule was so insane, that it literally took every free minute of every day for an entire month to get everything done that I needed to do. Though I intended to retroactively blog all of those missed sessions, I just couldn’t tear myself away from my family for the rest of December and January. I had been absent for far too long from family time, so I spent those first 6 weeks of winter just focusing on my family and taking a break from shooting so that I could come back refreshed and ready for 2014.
But now it is February and I am officially back! I have also have something new I’d like to do more often in 2014….I have two different sources (which I will blog more about later) that have inspired me to share at least one real, raw moment from my sessions. One moment in time where there wasn’t perfection…but the reality is beautiful and perfect in it’s imperfection. Today’s real shot came towards the end of our session. The baby was really crying and screaming at this point. She had been a champ for the full two hours, but was hungry and ready to be done with her shoot. We still had a few family shots to do, so we were working overtime to calm the baby down so we could get those photos. In the real moment shot that I included below, the baby’s dad gave her a snuggle and kiss in the midst of her screaming. It was so sweet, and real too. I hope you enjoy the photos and I am excited to be back sharing my work with everyone:-) So here is a little preview from my first newborn session of 2014:
A couple of weeks back, I shot with a really adorable couple who are expecting their first baby:-) We braved the crazy humidity and did a sunset session in Blue Back. Stay tuned in the next couple of weeks for their newborn session too! Here are a few of my favorites from our session:
I recently shot a great maternity session in Blue Back Square in West Hartford Center. I enjoy shooting photos outside of the standard park type settings. It can make for really interesting backdrops that you just can’t get at a park. And the best part about Blue Back is that there is this little grassy area as well, which balances nicely with all the “street” shots. Here are a few of my favorite photos from our session:
I recently had a family session with two little boys who had the most unbelievable blue eyes that I have ever seen. Photographing them was so much fun because their eyes were so intense. Check out these super handsome little boys and their parents who clearly handed down some fantastic genetics. They are going to have to chase the girls away one day! Here are a few of my favorites from our session:
If I didn’t know any better, I would think that it was fall and not spring…..and I am not talking just about weather. This is crazy weather though….one day my heat is on, the next my air conditioning. In one week’s time, I wore shorts and a tank top to one of my daughter’s softball games and a winter parka with hat, gloves, and a scarf….seriously, that happened! What I am referring to though with the feeling like it is fall and not spring is in reference to my calendar, which right now is FILLED with portrait sessions….as many as I would typically have right prior to the holiday card season! I guess everyone was feeling a little cooped up this winter and is anxious to get out in the sun and with the flowers for some family photos. I completely understand the feeling. The best part about it is that I get to have the excitement of the busy season twice this year:-) Nothing better than that!
So even though I am pressed for time, I promise to really try my best to include as many blog previews as I can manage while I go through the editing process for each shoot. My session highlight for today is a beautiful three month old baby girl whom I shot a newborn session for back in February. She was at my studio last weekend for her 3 month portraits, which ended up being absolutely precious. She is a ridiculously gorgeous baby. The kind that could model for baby gear and make you want to buy everything in the catalogue. That kind of gorgeous. Here are a few of my favorites from our shoot:
