A few weeks ago, I shot a newborn session with a brand new little boy and his parents at my home studio. It took a little time and a lot of snuggling to get him to settle in for some sleeping shots, but we were able to get everything we needed during our session and then some. I am so pleased with how these photos came out and I especially love the little “unposed” candid of him just hanging out with his binky while sitting in his mommy’s lap. Sometimes the shots in between are the ones that I end up loving the most. They are perfect in their little imperfection:)
Recently, I had a photo session with a beautiful family who had just brought home the newest addition to their family….an adorable baby girl! I went to their home to capture some photos of the whole family together. Here are a few of my favorites from our session:
I had a really fun “almost newborn” shoot recently with a beautiful baby girl who was a little smiling machine:-) I call it “almost newborn” because she was actually a bit more than a month old, so the shoot has a bit of a different look to it. There are far more awake shots than there are sleeping shots. And although you won’t see any of those curled up, snoozing baby photos, there are plenty of smiling baby shots to make up for it. Here are a few of my favorites from our session:
I recently shot a newborn session at my studio and the family requested to keep the photos very simple and clean…no hats, headbands, props, etc. It is nice to shoot this way from time to time because it allows you to focus more on the baby with less time spent trying to change outfits, rearrange the baby, etc.
Here are some of my favorite shots from our simplicity session:
A couple of weeks ago, I went to a new client’s home to photograph their gorgeous newborn baby girl. She was a very sleepy little munchkin, so I was able to get lot great shots without even having to take any breaks:-) Here are a few of my favorites from our session:
Just wanted to post a quick sneak peak of my latest newborn session shot in my studio. I have made a little more progress in there and have built my reflector wall, hung my curtains on actual rods as opposed to thumbtacking them up, and am in the process of building up my collection of blankets, baskets, backdrops, etc. This is a slow process, but one that I am really excited to be doing. I have lots of exciting ideas for how to use this new space, so definitely stay tuned for more information coming soon. If you have an almost one year old, you will definitely want to continue to check back to see when I start officially offering cake smash sessions:-) I cannot wait for that!
In the meantime, here is some extra adorable newborn sweetness from the little man who came to visit me last week for his very first photo shoot. Here are a few of my favorites:
Last week, I had the pleasure of shooting newborn photos for some good friends of ours who just had a beautiful little girl. She was such an easy going baby and snoozed for most of our session. I even had time to take photos with the family dog, which is usually a bonus shot that I do only if things are going super smoothly. Not only was the baby relaxed, but her parents also had this incredibly calm, confident aura surrounding them, as though they were just born to do this. It is not something you see too often with first time parents because everything is so new and overwhelming for most people. But for this family, there were no jitters or stress….just love and happiness. The last two photos that I am sharing today exemplify this perfectly. The one with the baby and mama looking into each others eyes almost made me cry when I first saw it. So sweet and precious. Then the last one with the family of three all snuggled together with the window light surrounding them. It was just the sweetest moment and I am so excited that I could capture that for them to remember forever. Here are some of my personal favorites from our session:
